I created this content a while ago when Magento 1 was coming to its end of life (EOL). Iāll use that content to lay the foundation of how I drive growth with content.

ā”ļøĀ Step #1: I chose a keyword and topic based on real-world demand.
This article had a total addressable market (TAM) of 250,000 merchants who use Magento to manage their businesses and over 730,000 total Magento user base. And since only 11,000 users had migrated to Magento 2, this topic would be in high demand.
So, the topic and keyword are viable for Ecommerce Platformsā website and businessāeCommerce software review. In the article, I helped readers see viable Magento alternatives.
ā”ļøĀ Step #2: Analyzed search intent, researched competitors, and determined other relevant keywords.
I looked at discussions, questions, and answers on this topic across platforms like Reddit and Quora to get a clearer idea of what people thought of Magento 1 and switching to Magento 2.
I discovered that people migrated their shops to a new eCommerce software instead of switching from Magento 1 to Magento 2. This explains why, of the 733,000 Magento users, only 250,000 merchants were active, and about 11,000 used Magento 2.
Notice that this piece of content focused on providing migration options for readers. This content path ties nicely with the search intent for this topicāhow to manage Magento 1 End of Life (i.e., the consideration stage of the buyerās journey).
I also read authoritative resources from Adobe (Magentoās parent company) and others on Magentoās plans and their Magento 1 EOL plans.
Next, I used Frase, Semrush, and Clearscope to find topical competitor and search engine keyword data.
Ā Step #3: Outline the post.
I used the data I gathered from steps 1 and 2 to guide my outline development. I also used Semrush, Frase, and the Outlines feature on Clearscope to develop theĀ structure for this content.
Ā Step #4: Wrote the article using the information from the outline and strategy notes.
Ā Step #5: Optimized the content using Clearscope.
Ā Step #6: Used Grammarly Premium to edit the post.
Ā Step #7: I sent the post for final proofreading and publishing.
